Challenge

Our customer's goal was to establish an e-bookshop where users of all ages, whether adults or children, can effortlessly discover their preferred reading genres.

Solution

Our primary focus was on crafting handy navigation and a comprehensive product listing, highlighting featured bestsellers. We took into account potential performance concerns and optimized site search speed through third-party integration. Consequently, the final version of the site offers a broad range of literature options for both children and adults, employing light colors to evoke the feeling of being immersed in a book while accessing the desired information.

Process

At the end of the first phase (BA) we had a detailed document which included all the aspects of client requirements and had a detailed scope of work for the whole project. The client was happy with the scope of work as it included all of their wishes when they thought that some of them were not feasible.

The second phase included the set-up of a new Magento 2 instance, data migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2, installation of ready-made extensions by Amasty and their customization, custom extensions development and custom theme development.


Third, final, step included deep testing, final adjustments and SEO optimization. We’ve done stress-tests and created several automated testing scenarios so that the customer would always be alerted about the state of their website.

As a final touch, we have optimized the website from SEO perspective and have scheduled regular activities for SEO maintenance for the next three months.

Results

As a result, we have created a completely new Magento 2 website with several custom features and a custom theme. After three months since switching live website to the new one, number of orders grew by 65% and thanks to the better performing website with the wide user-friendly functionality they started getting 2.5 times more free organic traffic.
